In Colorado, the sale of raw (unpasteurized) milk is not allowed in stores — but families can still enjoy fresh, nutrient-rich raw milk through what’s called a herdshare agreement. At Grand View Acres, members purchase a small ownership share in our Jersey dairy herd. This makes you a co-owner of the herd, allowing you to legally receive your portion of the milk produced each week. As required by Colorado law, our farm is registered with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and every shareholder signs a written contract that includes a bill of sale and boarding agreement for their share. All milk is clearly labeled as unpasteurized, and we provide ongoing herd-health and milk testing information to our members. Because you legally own part of the herd, your milk cannot be resold — it’s yours to enjoy fresh from our pastures to your table.
